When you place a conservation easement with RiGHT, we become long-term partners in the protection of your land’s conservation values. Stewardship means ensuring that the terms of the conservation easement are honored over time — through annual monitoring visits, good communication with landowners, and strong documentation. Stewardship protects your land’s conservation values permanently.
How It Works
Annual Monitoring: RiGHT visits your land each year to confirm that easement terms are being honored and to offer support.
Baseline Documentation: At closing, a detailed Baseline Documentation Report is created to serve as the foundation for future stewardship.
Ongoing Communication: We work with you openly to address questions, changes, or land management needs.
Defense if Needed: If violations occur, RiGHT has the responsibility and legal authority to defend the easement.
Monitoring visits are scheduled in advance and conducted with care and respect. Stewardship responsibilities are funded in part through the stewardship endowment established during the easement process, ensuring that resources are available to uphold your easement forever. Stewardship is a relationship based on trust and mutual respect.
